:ack: Here's the "skinny" on the a-c unit....went and saw my mechanic today,

and sure enough, he said the compressor is no longer working. Cost to replace

will be substantial....$1,100.00 :cryin:. With the hot summer weather

approaching fast here in Southern California, I have no re-course but to have

the repair done.

The Tahoe is a '97 LT with 73,000 miles, 4-door.

Is that a lot of money to pay for this kind of repair or what ? :mad2:

Only good thing is....he said that he will change oil, and oil filter for free

Thanks for reading.....Michael....5/12/07.

Sounds steep.
I put a compressor on myself about 3 years ago on my 95. I think the compressor itself was only about $100.00 from Autozone.
Do yourself a favor and get more quotes like RonH said.

 O'k guy's that what I'll do. 'Cause $1,100.00 sure does seem

like an awful to pay to install the new compressor. Be it, all the other hoses

etc. (parts) that have to be changed along with it.
