I have a 1998 2door Tahoe LT 4WD. IT has the old gearbox style steering. (BEFORE RACK AND PINION). The steering is loose, I have had all parts inspected nothing wrong. It is just not tight like a rack steering. Is there any way to tighten the steering up on this Tahoe. I installed a single Rancho steering stabilizer and it did nothing.: :confused2:

try replacing the steering sensor located on the steering column inside the cab just above the brake pedal. I had the same problem, (steering slip) and this solved the problem for me anyway.

I just changed the Steering Position Senso. It fixed the problem. Thank You for your information on this issue.
