It looks like I will probably go with this sub for my 2008 Tahoe:

http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_stealthbox_detail.php?fit_id=1562

I believe a couple of people here have installed it. How do you like it?

Is it a lot better than the Bose sub? (my guess is yes :) )

Also, where is the best place to buy it? I found a couple of site but it is priced near $600...same price as Car Toys.

Thanks.

I was going to install it, an Alpine 5-channel amp, and some Focal speakers to replace the Bose set up.

I looked into this sub once but figured its not worth the money, mainly because it can only handle 300 watts RMS. But maybe you are looking for something different so it should be good for you!
Where do you plan on putting the Alpine 5-Channel amp because it won't fit under the console with the sub?

Thanks. I am going to put the amp somewhere in the very back paneling. There should be just enough room for it.

It should go under it. I have a hybrid so that was not an option for me. :(

But, I am glad it will be hidden in the paneling....working on details now.

FYI, use the live.com 25% off Ebay promo to save on a system!!!

Example, I picked up a NEW Alpine PDX-5 amp for around $260 shipped. Car Toys wants $600 for it!!!!

The seller still has some if anyone else wants them. No brainer at this price!

Curious,

Has anyone run into warranty trouble for installing aftermarket systems?

I would hate the dealership to say the amp or something caused the problem and not fix the problem under warrarty. Again, just wondering.

Only if they can prove that it was the aftermarket system that caused the problem. For example, something that a dealer may not warranty because of an aftermarket system might be the charging system because of a faulty install.

Who was the seller. I assume you just used the live search and found the ebay link. Then paid regular price ($350 ish) and got the promo to spend on your next purchase. Could you detail your experience a little more. Thank you.

Go to www.live.com

type N64 Controller

You will see an Ebay link with 25% off at the top.

Click on it, then change your search to what you want to buy on Ebay.

Easy as that.

You need to register at live.com for cashback and use paypal.

I have saved over $2000 over the last 4 months. :)

FYI,

I had this installed and LOVE the performance of it.

I actually replaced the entire audio system.

The JL sub REALLY packs a punch. It's awesome.

I highly recommend it. I paid $450 shipped after cashback for it. The Bose sub is really a joke compared to it.

Driving it with an Alpine PDX-5 amp (300 watts).

I actually had someone over at the DIY Mobile forum put it up on Ebay for me.

He listed it for $600 shipped and I used the 25% cashback to get $150 off of it.

However, cashback is now only at 8% on live.com.....

I can send you his information if you want me to.

Wow has anyone seen & heard the finished product of the woofer ?

Nice design, at least a thief wouldnt know its there unless powered up.

If anyone gets it installed , lets hear from you on how it sounds.
I would be willing to buy that.
