security system

i have i 97 tahoe. since my truck doesnt have a factory security system, i wanted to get one. im not looking for all the bells and whistles like remote start and all unless i find one at a really good price but im unsure about which brand is the best like viper or hornet. also, are these systems easy to hook up cause im clueless about car electronics.

if your getting a basic system theyre... i wanna say 9 wires. its not too bad. www.the12volt.com will give you a wire diagram for the truck. as alarms go, I've used prestiege and autopage alot. DEI has alot of good alarms as well. its all personal preference. I like my Autopage because its got alot of cool features, but if you dont need it all then shop around and see what u like.
