I need some help here...

I've got a 99 2dr 4wd with auto-trac. I cant begin to tell you how many problems I have had trying to find parts for my truck because in parts makers eye's it is the "odd" or "in between" year model.

I fell in love with Skyjacker back when I used to do lift kit installations about 10 years ago as a weekend job at my friends shop.

I am looking for a 2-3 inch lift. Skyjacker makes one, but it is not "recommended" for 99 models. I am no expert, but is there really that big of a difference between the 98 and 99 models? Most other companies lift kits are for the 95-99 era. I have even gone so far as to speak with a specialist at Skyjacker and he commented that it had never been tested on a 99, and therefore they would not recommend putting it onto one.

Has anyone ever installed one of these kits? Does anyone know why it would be unable to work on my truck?

Skyjacker kit C2567K

I'm planning on putting some 275/70r18's onto my truck, and all I need is another inch or two of clearance; and I can't stand body lifts.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The Skyjacker lift kit I had on my old Grand Cherokee was pretty weak. Are you planning on doing some serious offroad?

No, I'm not planning on any major offroading. Just want a little more height for unloading my jet skis and for tire clearance.

I'm not really a big fan of blocks for lifting the rear, just not as comfortable a ride and durability lacks a little. I know the lift I want, I just need to know if there is any difference between 98 & 99 that would cause new A-arms, differential brackets, front brake lines, and rear add-a-leafs to not fit on my truck.

Skyjacker C2567K is the lift I want to use.

Talked to some guys at a local lift shop in town and theysaid to steer away from any of the 2-3 inch lifts for the 2 doors. They stated that the brackets and such for this lift create a fairly stiff ride and cause a lot of rattle. Their suggestion was to get the highest rated torsion bars I can, new keys, and raise it as far as I can without damaging the CV.

u said that u wanted to fit 275 tires on your truck. i'm running 33/15/12.5 stock which is bigger than 275. so unless there's a clearance problem with the larger rims i dont see why u couldnt fit 275's.
