Gas light

When my gas light comes on I immediatley go to the gas station and fill up, for some reason when I fill it up its only 20 gallons (i realize the tank is 26) Is this normal? We just replaced the fuel sending unit and before that crapped out I was putting the same amount (20 gals) in the truck when the light popped on, just curious to make sure there isnt something else wrong with the fuel stuff

Mine is the same way. One time I had to drive almost 60 miles when the LOW FUEL msg appeared before I came across another fuel station. I am guessing it comes on with a just a few gallons left to warn you right before you go completely empty.

I never push it that far, I always fill up ant half full.

When my low fuel comes on I usually end up putting approx 23-24gals of fuel in it. Since new I've run it to the low fuel light, 90% of the time.
