Exhaust tip intallation

Hi, I just bought an exhaust tip (Kool-Vue part number KV160103) for my '08 Tahoe. Can anyone tell me if the exhaust tip fits over the existing stock tip or do I need to remove something? The stock tip is part of the muffler. Anyone installed one of these? Thanks.

I found this description on a google search:

If you have a 07- up truck, you have at least a 2.75 pipe. I don't see how this could possibly work.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't even think to look at the dimensions closely - I thought the advertised description was enough. Live and learn. Should have bought directly from GM I guess.
