cheap horse power?

whats up guys>? I have a 99 tahoe 5.7. im kinda on a budget when it comes to buying performance parts. i have the hypertech power programer installed buy the guys with the newer trucks still out run me. my question is t you all is, do you know of any little tricks on getting more hp without going into the engine?

Programmers aren't what I'd call "cheap", but an intake kit would surely help out if you don't have one. $200-$300 range; simple installation. Lots of threads on that around here...Volant seems to be a good name for newer models, and they probably have something for yours as well.
