I have a 1998 4 door tahoe with a front passenger door problem. The door won't open from the inside. I feel like a butler having to get out, go to the outside of the passenger door and open the door from the outside. When I pull on the inside handle, it feels firm and I can hear some scraping inside but it isn't acuating the latch. How do I get the door handle assembly off!! Thanks for any help.

the gmt-400s are known for that trouble, i had a 99 before my 06 and never had any mechnical trouble, but the dang doors were always giving me trouble, started on the driver side, door would open from out side but i would need to open the window to get out, then the lock stopped working if i used the fob, they had to replace the lock assembly and that fixed them both. the same process repeted on all 4 doors. :mad2:
