Is there a generic replacement for the rear hatch door lock actuator?

Title says it all....

Is there a generic replacement for the rear hatch door lock actuator?

My door lock actuator died, so I disconnected it since it works like 10% of the time. I need to replace it. Can I use a generic replacement? I've seen several of them including the ones on www.bulldogsecurity.com for cheap. Will these work?

as long as the voltage and current is able to move the generic actuator and you can mount it to move the lock to "pop" it, there is no reason why it wouldn't
