my KE has been shorting out it seems like, when its cold it doesnt work, when its warm it does:confused2:

Have you tried replacing the battery in the transmitter? Air is denser when it's colder. If the batteries are weak, the signal transmission is weak as well. RF transmission is hindered to a degree by colder, denser air, more so if the signal is weak due to a low battery.
