I've been having some misfire/hard starting when warm issues. Every now and again, I'll get check engine light for a ECT sensor code. I've replaced it twice. Here's my question... When I screw it in, there are still 3-4 threads showing when it tightens down into the intake. Is this how it normally is? Just seems like it should be flush to me.
Thanks for any help, Adam.

The ect code could also be due to a bad connector or intermittent wiring issue like an open or shorted circuit. Check the connectors and wiring leading to the ect. And there may be a couple threads left when the ect is tightened.

I ordered a dealer part (instead of the O'Reillys/Autozone parts) and it hasn't given me a problem since! Guess it pays to order the real stuff!
