spare tire panel replacement

i already own a 89 Z71 pu. i just recently bought a 1997 2 door Z71 tahoe. the tahoe has the spare tire in the left rear panel and i was wondering if the panel out of a suburban would fit so it would be smooth. i work at a custom stereo shop so if all else fails i can fiberglass but i would rather just replace with a stok piece. has anyone done it or heard of someone doin it? thanks.

What panel are you talking about? You have a panel covering your spare tire? My 97 2 door just has molded carpet covering the spare tire. Do you have a picture of it?

i want to pull the spare tire out completely. i have a cell phone. its just as good as a spare tire. lol. all the tire does is take up space.
