Need help with my 2008 4x4 tahoe..

i try to put it in 4x4 but it does not engage...

i can hear the transfer case switch, but then if i hold the brakes and try to spin the tires you can hear the front differential not engaging/ grinding.

yes, i know the grinding is bad.. and not to do it..

any ideas what my problem could be?

has anyone had a problem similar to mine?

I have a 2004 z71 tahoe and my 4x4 wouldn't engage either, so I took it back to the dealership I had bought it from a two weeks prior and they ran a diagnostic test. Turns out the sensor on my TC went out $291 later my 4x4 engages like new. Hope this helps, I know its four years older than yours, but I'm sure its all the same electrionical wiring.
