Hey all, just checking to see anyone here has pics of there 07' tahoes on 22's with either stock ride height or lowered? Reason I am asking is I had a 05' avalanche that I put 22's on and it was 2 wheel drive, and the gap between the wheel well was huge so I lowered it to close the gap a bit, I just traded my avalanche in on a 07' tahoe and I kept my 22's so I wanna get a idea if I will need to lower it a bit to close any wheel well gap. Thanks in advance!

Nice ride cmh1098. Was wondering what size tires you have on the Tahoe.

Nice ride cmh1098. Was wondering what size tires you have on the Tahoe.

Greetings. The tires are 305/40-22 which have the exact same outside diameter of the stock tires that were on the truck when new. Perfect size IMHO. :)

When I got the truck, it had 24's with 305/35-24 tires that were just enough larger in diameter than stock so that they rubbed a bit in the front fenders when turning. They weren't bad, but I like the 22's much better.

Cheers.

Thanks for the info. Throwing on a set of 305/45/22's on my kon. Wanted to make sure a 2/3 drop would look right and not give me issues when towing. Trying to get rid of all that fender well gap while still retaining usability. If you don't mind me asking, what kit did you use? I'll post pics once I'm done also. Thanks.....

Hi there, I'd really recommend going with the 305/40-22's instead as I'm pretty sure you will get rubbing in the front fender wells while turning with the 305/45-22's once lowered as they are even a bit larger in diameter than the 305/35-24's that were rubbing on my truck.

If you want to check yourself there is a good tire size comparison site at http://www.powerdog.com/tiresize.cgi. Here are the three sizes that I was working with.

Size Diameter

305/40-22 31.6"
305/35-24 32.4"
305/45-22 32.8"

No worries about towing with the 2/3 drop kit as I have used mine for 1,000's of miles of towing a car hauler with about 4,500 lbs total with car and trailer (pics attached).

I actually don't know my drop kit as I did not install it. It is something I am trying to find out as I want to upgrade the shocks to firm up the ride a bit as it is a bit too bouncy for my taste especially when towing the trailer of bumps and dips on the freeway. I know where the work was originally done so am going to try to find out this week if they can look up records as to what was actually installed on the truck so I can figure out what shocks can be added.

Cheers.

New member here. Awesome Tahoe, cmh1098.

I have an '07 with a McGaughy's 2/3 drop and was wanting to go with the same tire dimensions of 305/40r22. My first concern is any rubbing at all and the second is if your front tires stick outside of the front fenders. Do you know the offset of your wheels? I currently have the 20x8.5, +31 offset LTZ wheels and want to go with a 22x9.5. I am thinking that with a 31 offset on the new wheels, the rears will be flush with the fenders, but the fronts will stick out.

Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated!
