Replacing Rear Shocks

I have an odd question... I need to replace my rear shocks on a lifted Tahoe, how do I know what length of shocks to get? Do I go with ones that have the greatest amount of extended and collapsed length?

No I have not had any help with this. Im assuming I should just replace my lift kit with a new one.

I want to buy new ones without having to remove the old ones, then put them back on just to remove them again.
