rear wiper

2003 Tahoe rear hatch wiper quit working, I bought a new one and still had the same problem. What do check next.

There are a few things to check...

First pop the plastic guard off the base of the rear wiper arm and lubricate the joint, they become heavily oxidized and so stiff that the motor cannot lift the arm out of the saddle. You may also want to remove the arm and lubricate the bushing that the drive shaft passes through.

If that does not fix it you may want to check to make sure you have not lost your ground connection, the rear hatch is aluminum and commonly loses the ground connection.

rear wiper not working

Had the same thing happen on my '06 Tahoe. Found a broken wire between the rear door and the body. The wires are enclosed in a rubber boot located on the top of the rear opening.
