Lift kit and tire combo

I have a 1999 2 door 4x4 i bought recently for 2000.00 it already has what appears as a 2 inch body lift and it looks like they made their own brackets and moved the front shocks up on the bottom a-arm but their welds look like crap and I want to change it . It sits on 35" tires right now with 15x12 bullet holes . I want to change it to a real suspension lift what is the best suspension lift and tire combo ? I guess I'm asking would a 6 inch suspension lift with 33" tires look good and I want to put 20x14 inch rims on it as well

I've seen Tahoes with 6" lift and 35s and they look good.
