Question....

Would it be practical to lower my '97 Tahoe a couple inches, and if so, how rough of a ride could I expect ?

I would like to know also.

I was thinking McGaughys 2/3" drop w/spindles.

Would this ruin ride or make for a dangerous ride, as my wife/kids are in it?

I would think this would be the best setup plus lower is a little easier for little guys to get in.
