Over the weekend I changed the battery and front brakes (rotors and pads) on my 96 Tahoe. Now, when I drive over 65 MPH I am hearing a light howling sound coming from the front of the vehicle. I checked over the brakes and I did not notice anything out of the ordinary. Does anyone have an idea what this might be?

Can you determine if the howl is being created by wind? Check your u-joints.

I don't think it is wind, that was my first thought! I'll have to check the u-joints, but I have had them go out in other trucks and the sound I heard was something like ticking. Thanks

I too have had the u-joints do the click thing but the last time I had a u-joint issue there was not clicking. Just a vibrating kinda hummmmm at highway speeds. Eventually it snapped and cracked my tranny case. Cheap repair got mighty pricey after that.

Just a place you might wanna check out anyway. Good luck.
