I don't know if any of you have heard of Network Car but it basically allow the owner to track the car or truck with a GPS. It will show you where it is in real-time as well as how fast it it going and the Miles Per Gallon. It will also send up diagnostics and keep a history of everything and is all accessable from an online account.

OnStar has the technology to do this, it would be nice if they offered it as an additional service to those of us that want to see where the truck is (when the wife is "borrowing" it) or for those who have fleets and don't want to have to install even more hardware. Just a thought

Yea I think if they did offer this service it would KILL thier sales with the consumers thoughts of thier boyfriends or girlfriends stalking them. Heck most husbands or wives dont want thier partners to know every move...

But yea, in theory they could offer it but again it would kill thier sales with the "big brother" conspiracys.

The technology is already availible through other services, as a matter of fact you can buy a battery powered GPS and put it in any car and then download the whole trek later.

Now if the truck is stolen OnStar will act as a "low jack" right?

Seems like that kind of service is in the gray area. Its seems like a good idea but like what you guys posted above its pretty much like stalking :yesnod:
