HO Alternator

I'm thinking of adding a high output alt to my 99 Tahoe. Any suggestions?

Also, I'm planning on getting a Yellow Top battery. I'm uncertain as to whether or not a stock alt is okay on this type of battery. Will a HO alt be okay on a stock battery? I can't replace both at the same time. I would need at least two or three weeks between.

Anyone know the amperage on the stock alternator? 1999 Tahoe 2WD

Stock battery should be fine. It's only there to provide starting power. Once started, your alternator supplies needed power to your electrical accessories, unless you have a large audio system.

Well, I put a yellowtop in last week and it's helped a lot. I still have some dimming issues when I listen to stuff with a lot of bass, but the volt meter was dipping down to 11.5 at times. With the new battery, it never gets below 12.5 while idling and 13 or so while driving.

I'll have to put off the alt for a while, though. Have some other issues that need to be taken care of first now...
