I have a 2 inch body on my 08 tahoe and it shows less frame then my dads new 08 2500 gmc

The body lift is cheap to buy and a pain in the ass to install. For the height you want and the tire size you plan to run for now (upgrading to a larger size in the future I hope) a simple leveling kit is probably a better route.
The 2500HD shows more frame because the body is raised off the chassis to clear the larger bellhousing on the Allison transmission and 8.1 / 6.6L engines.

Any pictures with your lift and tire combo? I think that would settle all of the non-believers. I personally, prefer the suspension lift, but after seeing my friends 2002 Expedition with a 3 inch body lift, I didn't think it looked that bad.
