    Temp gage problems?? I think...

For those of you who might be interested, all 9 of you, I changed the sensor today. The gauge now starts out at about the 7 o'clock position and does move clockwise as the coolant warms up. So the sensor was bad, now I have a new problem. Is there some type of calibration to get the needle on...

    Temp gage problems?? I think...

I have a 99 2 door hoe with the 5.7 of course. I'm having trouble with the temp gage. As soon as you start it up the needle on the gage goes to exactly halfway between 100 and 210 which should be about 155. It goes there as soon as you start it and it stays there no matter how long you drive or...

    Who tows with thier 'Hoe?

I've towed my 20' boat this past summer with no issues. I would "guesstimate" the boat and trailer weigh 4-5k lbs. It is a bowrider boat with V8 power so its kinda heavy. An average round trip of 50 miles to the lake many times over the summer. I also hauled my buddys rock crawler jeep on a 16'...

What diff fluid do I use?

A quick heads up on OEM diff fluid, before I decided to change my diff all together, I went to the dealership and got their stuff. (3) 23 oz. bottles off diff fluid and friction modifier additive= $48. REGULAR MINERAL OIL-NOT SYNTHETIC. Overpriced BS that was returned the next day.

What diff fluid do I use?

GOOD LUCK. I say that cuz I was in the same situation bout a month ago- needing to know what diff fluid to use, and the suggestions are endless. I searched here and elsewhere on the internet and found so many "opinions" and not one single definite answer. I even called a couple GM dealerships in...

No problem. Thanks for the replies. I ordered the Truetrac and install kit yesterday. I'm confident that it will do what I want it to.

    Cleaning windows

This product is called Invisible Glass and is made by Stoner. It is the best I've ever used. Use newspaper as paper towels will leave excessive lint on the glass

    Rear diff (G80) locked??????

Reliability is exactly what I'm looking for. At first, I did a little research on a junkyard replacement (complete rear) and found that they go for anywhere between $750-$1200 and that price includes the peace of mind in NOT knowing if your any better off. Gonna just go ahead with the Truetrac-...

    Rear diff (G80) locked??????

Will definitely try the reverse idea. Not really much to lose anyways. As for putting money into a 10 bolt, I use this vehicle on highway 90% of the time and was under the impression that the Truetrac would be good for this application. I have no intentions of off-roading this vehicle and the...

    Rear diff (G80) locked??????

I have now decided to go with the Truetrac diff. Talked with a reputable mechanic today and he suggested the Truetrac before I mentioned it. He said he has installed approx 75 and no issues with any of them. He said he would install it for $100 but he is going to charge me $530 for the diff...

    Rear diff (G80) locked??????

Thanks for the replies. I've now accepted the fact that the diff will have to be replaced. I use this vehicle as somewhat of a daily driver that will see tow duty for the boat in the summer and 1 or 2 ATV's a couple times a month. I need a diff that will have the driveability of an OEM unit but...

    Rear diff (G80) locked??????

I'm new to the site and love it. Lots of useful info. I have a 99 2 door hoe with differential problems. It is the G80 unit limited slip, posi trac. Problem is this: drives fine going straight no noises or whining, but when you turn fairly sharp the differential is still locked like it has a...
