Question on your post here. You mention the Z71 is not available with the max trailer package, but IS available with the 3.42 axle. This doesnt make sense to me, the owners manual says vehicles with the 3.42 can tow over 8000lb, with the 3.08 only 6500. So why would the 3.42 axle be offered...

I currently have a 2002 Tahoe LT that I tow 7000lbs with. It's getting on in years and I am looking at a lightly used 2015 LT. There is nothing in the LTZ that seems to justify the extra price to me. There seems to be some conflicting information in another thread about the towing...
