My tahoe (96 2dr 4x4) is lifted and I'd like to replace the rear flexible brake line.
Anyone know of a vehicle I can purchase a replacement rubber line for that is a longer direct replacement? I don't really want braided lines and I only need the rear.
On some of my former jeep CJ's you...
I"ll take one. I could come down, mount the winch in the bumper and help you install it. I'll do all the winch wiring.
How long would it take you to have one ready? I will pay cash when I pick it up.
I dropped the passenger side inner fender liner and got it. My truck has 6" of lift. If not, the wheel would have needed to be removed too. I assume the radiator was installed with the lower hose attached. I don't think the hose was original. Those clamps were a major PITA.
Thanks for the reply
Today I set off to change the spark plugs, thermostat, heater control valve, upper radiator hose and lower radiator hose. Everything went well until I got to the lower hose clamp on the radiator. The tabs on the friction clamp are pointed to the inner fender and I don't see any way to compress...
Thanks for the info. I just unplugged it and have heat again (makes me think the valve works).
I have a new control valve ($12) otw. I will see what happens and report back. If that doesn't work I will replace the solenoid and vacuum line. Control head seems to be ok. If not I will replace it...
I have a 96 tahoe 2dr. This morning it was in the 20's and I had no heat.
I'm going to flush the radiator, heater core, change coolant, t-stat & hoses. I need to see about getting it blowing heat first. A little cold for the work this weekend. The vacuum hose on the heater valve was...
Starter, cap, wires and plugs got it back up and running. Sadly, the flexplate was damaged during the failure(s). Sounds terrible during the starting process now. Transmission and transfer case will have to be dropped... Will update when I get it back.
Thank you for the input. I called and asked them to check the crank position sensor. The wires, plugs and cap were due anyway. Hopefully I can report back with some good news tomorrow. I miss the truck. I have other things to drive but I always grab the tahoe keys on the way out the door.
Thanks for the response. They called a little while ago and told me no spark. They were going to start with distributor cap, wires and plugs. i will update the thread as i get info.
my 1996 tahoe won't start. Less than 1000 miles ago the transmission was rebuilt. Last friday I went to start it and the starter sounded terrible. It was not turning over the engine either. Had it towed to my friends shop. Starter broke at the nose cone. Got a replacement and the truck won't...
I just had my transmission rebuilt at a reputable shop for $1499 including servicing the transfer case (fluid change) and labor to R&R the parts. They used a new convertor, parts kit, solenoid pack and mild shift kit. 12mo, 12k mile warranty. The 3/4 gear clutches went out on mine. They do the...
