    tow/haul mode

No. Just raises the shift points.

    tow/haul mode

I ALWAYS drive with it on. I prefer the higher shift points and how it holds the gear longer.

    Need advice on rear end

Gonna have to pop the diff cover. Either gonna be ring & pinion gears, pinion/carrier bearings, or spider gears. Problem is, when one of those goes, you usually end up replacing it all. For the cost of all that, yes you could do a locker and parts. Personally, I can't wait for your scenario...

    Tahoe 2WD for dirt?

Add a long-travel suspension system, Detroit locker and enjoy. Sure you won't be rockcrawlin' or mud-boggin'. But there is lots of fun to be had with this setup :au:

Best way to connect iPod to OEM system?

Saw the drive+play 1 on sale at Best Buy for $69. Cleaner look and more fun than just an FM transmitter. Love the new & improved 2, but not at $400! Still debating what to do....

Best way to connect iPod to OEM system?

Tired of FM transmitters! What is the best way to connect my iPod to my factory deck? It has the single CD unit with external cassette below? Prefer to be able to walk into the stereo shop and say, "do this......" and avoid the salesperson's opinion. Thanks! Doug

    Idling Problems with 2000 Yukon

That's what I'm guessing it is. Just like mine. After it warms up and the steel expands, it seals and runs fine. The codes retrieved at cold start up were describing misfires but do not pin point the problem.

    Idling Problems with 2000 Yukon

Uh, I think you need to try searching, lol..... Here's my post from last month describing the same problems and the cause was the intake manifold gaskets. http://www.tahoeforum.com/showthread.php?t=2834

    01 Tahoe Towing question

I checked, you DO qualify to tow a 1993 Mustang GT with an auto transport. You are right, you will need an adapter from the 7-way on your Tahoe to the 4-flat on the trailer. They can be purchased at the U-Haul location for $13.95 or elsewhere for a little less. Because of the surge brake, the...

    01 Tahoe Towing question

I just left U-Haul after eight years. First question is, what car do you plan on towing? Have to make sure it qualifies based on weight. ... but yeah, you will need a class 3 hitch. Luckily the hitch and wiring is cheap & easy to install. Get a couple quotes for a complete package. ...

Wind noise across top of windshield

The two things that come to my mind are: 1. Has the windshield ever been replaced? Unskilled replacement would easy cause wind noise and/or water leaks. If this is the cause, the odds of the extended warranty covering it are slim. Liability lies with the company that replaced the windshield...

'01 Yukon Won't Idle when cold???

Thank you SO MUCH! A vacuum leak was the only thing that made sense because it runs perfect when warm and nobody could find the problem. I spoke toooo early in my previous post. The truck is running worse than ever! The temps have dropped to 0deg at night and it has been terrible...

'01 Yukon Won't Idle when cold???

Well, got it scanned when starting and found an 02 sensor that was not switching causing it to run too rich and die. After replacement, I would say it's idling 50% better. The rpm is holding higher, but it is still rough and coughes when accelerating from a stop.
