Also I would definitely service your transmission if you are unsure when it was last performed. The 4L60E can be very finicky.

For the Service 4WD I have read it could be the encoder motor for the transfer case or the switch. I would do an Internet search on it, possibly the Z71 Tahoe/Suburban forum, for more info. Seems like most threads on here go unanswered. Hope this helps.

Hello everyone. Wife and I just bought a 2005 Tahoe Z71 4x4 w/77,000 miles. One owner and it is immaculate! We are loving it, loads of room for us and our daughter/carseat. We also own a 96 Suburban, currently down with the common 4L60E "no Overdrive". The 5.3L has pretty decent power also...

If you are financing it what does your bank think of the branded title? Have to also think about resale down the road.
