miles
i have a '97 tahoe 2 door LT & she's just about to trip 181,000 & still running very strong on both the original tranny & motor.here's a pic of how good the original paint still looks....
i don't believe they had a factory mount for the tahoe,BUT you could canabalize 1 of an 80's-90's era s-10 blazer & modify it to work,or just get a gear basket for the roof & mount the spare on top.
mine gets near 18-20mpg.it's a 2dr & there is a MAJOR weight difference between the 4dr.my mom has the 4 door & it feels twice as big & gets much worse mileage.i got a tornado for mine & i noticed a difference, but ONLY when used in cunjuntion with a K & N air filter.i switched to E3 sparkplugs...
my friend said there's actually a regulator seperate from the heat/ac unit that is the cause of this issue.mine only works on high & he said only to replace this regulator (i think it's on the firewall) and it'll fix it without buying a new unit
honestly dude,
i got a set of crystal clears off ebay & my opinion of them is the same as other items in this class.they fit like crap & will require a bodyman to line up the gaps & make them look straight in the grill.the backs have screw-type bulb retainers instead of twist-in...
did you change your fuel filter with that new fuel pump? i have had 2 97's,and they will run rough & shut down with a fuel fliter that's slowly clogging.also, check your oxygen sensor, that can make it run rough.check for vaccum leaks too, these would affect the motor under acceleration.
