i have that adapter, would sell it to you actually. Real easy to hook up, retains all factory options, you can do what i did and hook it up to the rear rca's and whether you wanted to turn it up or down you can use the rear fader as the front speakers are usually all you need.
pm me if you...
you have to gently pry the wood piece back, careful not to nick the wood. then there's 6-8 bolts(7mm?) that lets the a/c and head unit out of the console
i put a w205 b200 in my hoe. The only problem is it will stick out about an inch from the dash unless you cut away some of the plastic in the back. I don't mind the sticking out and i think it still looks stock.
I put in a w205 using the pac os3 for onstar and swi jack for the steering wheel controls. I retained everything like stock and when I put in new speakers I hooked up the back 3.5's to play the onstar only. And by the way I run JL subs, love them, but do agree that if you look around it's not...
What I did was run it to the driver side and through the factory grommet. I replaced my HU with the Alpine w205 b200 package and replaced he factory speakers with alpine type r comp(front) and coax(rear) powered off a pdx 4.100 hidden under the console. Wiring supplied by PAC OS3 and SWX-JACK to...
DO NOT DO THIS! i tried it with the cloth and iron method, lifted the sticker, residue was left all over. Needless to say, but 40$ later and i have a new visor with an air bag sticker. I wouldn't do it again, but you may have better luck.
i have the pac aoem gm1416 for sale. I hooked it up but never connected an amp. give a reasonable price and shipping and ill let it go.
edit*
just saw what i spent so how's 40 shipped
assuming you have the pac aoem gm1416, all you do is unplug the stereo wiring harness, plug the pac wiring harness in to the body harness and stereo, and the little box allows for two rca connections. It's simple and only takes a minute.
sorry a month later and i barely saw this
I am doing the same thing here real soon. I have decided to use the pac os3(os3bose for bose applications, i don't have it) connected to a pac swi jack for steering wheel contorls for the alpine im getting. Then, to keep the onstar through the front speakers a speaker line inverter thing to make...
I was wondering if the non bose system was just a set of speakers wired to the head unit or if they are also powered by an amp. I plan on upgrading but not sure if I want to gut it and replace it all or just install some type s speakers and a couple subs.
Thanks,
Brandon
