    Electrical? Fuel? Help!!

If it really is only happening while hot I would start with the ICM and ignition coil. Easy replacements, both of them. Depending on brand/quality it'll be around $80 in parts. They're right next to each other and come off with the same bolts. The coil is riveted in, but the rivets are cheap...

    Passlock bypass options

'99 college party girl ('Hoe). She sucks good (k&n CAI), squeezes good (350 on a fresh build), blows good (flowtech LT's, true duals, cat delete, flowmasters), knows how to play the whistle (1" TB spacer), lights up the room (accel ignition system), and is built for speed (tuned by Mayhem...

    Rear HVAC calibration not working?

Ok so I got a new blend door actuator and the first thing it did (after another attempt at calibration) was over travel and jam up the blend door again AND NOW I can't control blower direction either. Thoughts from anyone? I tried both calibration methods I listed above again. I'm at a complete...

    Rear HVAC calibration not working?

Further digging has shown that the temp control blend door actuator has completely locked up in an over traveled position :/ damn near had to pry it off with a screwdriver from all the tension built up in it. I guess I'm looking for a new one of those now.

    Rear HVAC calibration not working?

Hi everyone, I have an 04 Z71 that the rear heat went out in a few weeks ago. Research showed that the control module was more than likely the culprit, so I ordered one and installed it today. I went through the calibration method I found (pull HVAC/ECAS fuse during installation, start truck...

    Heads cracked. Alternatives?

My stock 99 5.7L cracked both heads already at 140,000 miles. The guy that does my machine work is an old friend and he said that in his experience these heads crack more often than not. Now that being said, are there any alternative stock heads that hold up better? For instance the 243 heads...

    Aftermarket valve covers

Thanks for the help guys. I like the black a lot. Just got a call from the machine shop though and both heads are cracked @ 140,000 miles. Need to source new heads. I'm going to make a new thread right quick though as I have some questions.

    Aftermarket valve covers

I talked to a friend that works commercial at an Autozone and he has been looking through the books. I did just find these on jegs... I don't know how I missed then before. I'm just trying to determine if they will work...

    Aftermarket valve covers

I did, and I hate to be super picky but I was looking for something in black with the old school look of having the embossed brand name/logo. I can always paint them if I need to, but the only ones on eBay that I have found are the chrome trans-dapt ones. I'm not the best at surfing eBay though...

    Aftermarket valve covers

Either the bolt pattern is incorrect, or the service holes (breather, PCV, and oil fill) are in the wrong location. I would rather not have make modifications if I don't have to.

    Aftermarket valve covers

I have a 99 two door in mint condition that I have currently torn the engine down in to do some motor work. On the way back up though I wanted to paint the heads and replace the valve covers with something cool (edelbrock, holley, moroso, mickey thompson, etc.) But I can't seem to find ANYTHING...

    5.3l ghost misfire

Check engine light never even came on. I ran a scan once for pending codes and got the "random multiple misfire" code, but it disappeared shortly after and hasn't come back to my knowledge. Other than that, nothing.

    5.3l ghost misfire

Hello all, thanks you for allowing me to join your forum. I joined because I am having issues with my 04 5.3l z71. Daily driver with 166k on the clock. Little background information, I had the heads replaced by a local indy shop about 2 years ago. I had a defective set of heads that cracked...
