I have both 20s and 22s for my Tahoe. Up until July of this year, I was running 22s as my summer wheels. The 22s were always a rougher ride than my stock 17s but I figured that was the price to pay for running big wheels. I had lowered my Tahoe this year and immediately noticed it was really...
check out the Kenwood Excelon DNX8120. It's one serious unit... I didn't think I needed Nav either. I think it's a guy thing :) but it's definitely nice to have..
Jenna,
Are you thinking about replacing the headunit in the Tahoe? The Pioneer HUs are nice but the more fancier units tend to have NAV. Kenwood has some pretty slick stuff on the market. I've got Kenwood gear in all my rides and wouldn't change a thing. In fact, I'm thinking I might upgrade...
I went this route to lower my Tahoe. I did it with 3" Eibach lowering coils, cranked the stock keys down (although I have a set of purple keys to put on) and a set of Belltech shock extenders. It's sitting at 34 1/2 in the rear and 34 3/4 in the front. The height difference is barely noticeable...
I'm running Bilsteins (Blue & Yellow shocks) on my lowered Z71. The ride was harsh in the rear so I installed a set of Bell Tech shock extenders. The ride is a lot better now. There was hardly no rebound with the 3" lowering coils. Much better now though...
The Z71s come with the Red Tennico shocks. I'm running the yellow/blue Bilsteins on my 06 Tahoe Z71 that's lowered. Others with cranked keys and spacers are running the Silver (longer) Bilsteins.
Whoa.. Where the heck have I been? I missed the ditch story. Sorry to hear about your truck Boost... Hope you get it back soon. The wheels look awesome..
Try s100 polishing soap. I use it on my polished wheels on the TBSS and the chrome wheels on the Tahoe. This stuff is absolutely amazing.... You can pick it up at most Harley-Davidson dealers for about $10.
I'm quite sure it's called the applique although I'm not sure what the part number is. I doubt that anyone will remove their from their truck as it's held in place (to the window) with adhesive. I'd suggest looking on gmpartdirect.com or newgmparts.com to find the part number.
bent plate and all... j/k Jenna... your truck looks awesome as always!
Q for you.. Where'd you get that bowtie? I'm in the market for another one but this time I'm going billet.
Discodave to answer your question, no, you can't swap out the premium amp w/ the luxury amp without changing the headunit too or at least reprogramming it for lux.
I recently completed this swap (along w/ adding the Factory Nav and CD Changer) and it does make a difference. With the luxury...
