    07 LTZ Hard Start?

On my wife's 07 LTZ with 51k miles, it's giving us a hard time when starting. Most times seems like an extended crank, and once done cranking, the engine stumbles up to a normal idle. Sometimes it just cranks a bit and then stops. It's almost left us stranded a few times. I think the remote...

Looking to lower with Mcgaughy 2/3

Cutting the extra off the ball joint is about the hardest part, and it's not bad. Also, when lowering the rear axle to put in the coil springs, be sure not to stress the rear ABS lines. I learned from mistake there. :o

How to clean Factory Running Board

Poorboy's Trim Restore here. I apply it to all the black plastic with the cheap foam brushes. A little goes a long way. It's also water based, so it doesn't stain anything, and it's not slippery. I love the stuff.

    front end noises

When my wife's was doing that, I found a bunch of cracked boots. One on the passenger lower balljoint, and both tie rod ends. So run your fingers along all of those boots under there and check for cracks.

    Weird low honking noise?

Cool, thanks, I'll give it a shot. Can't hurt to give the caliper bolts a crank. I haven't put brakes on it yet, I bet it's gonna need em soon. I forgot to mention that the dealer couldn't reproduce the sound, go figure, right?

    Weird low honking noise?

Yes, it is a spindle kit. I just reworked the whole front end pretty much. Both new outer tie rod ends, and a new passenger side lower control arm because of the ball joint. Of course, they didn't cover this all under warranty because of the lowering kit. I know I didn't damage the boots...

    Weird low honking noise?

I've been chasing this problem around forever on my wife's 07 Tahoe LTZ and was hoping somebody else may have had this problem. We lowered it shortly after we got it, and several thousand miles later, it started this weird "honking" noise when taking certain turns at speed. Now with almost 40k...

    Dear god stop the squeaking!

Hmm.....Maybe check to make sure your sway bar endlinks are tight, and also check your shocks. Sometimes loose shocks can cause noise. They shouldn't have taken them off to do the drop, but it may have loosened up. You said it sounds like the front, but you might want to check the rear shock...

    07 tahoe programming

I didn't see any mpg improvements with the 2815, even with 93 octane. Check the 8th digit of your VIN. It determines which engine you have. If it's a 0, you only get hp improvements from the 93 octane tune, nothing from the others. And I found the mpg to be the same. Superchips website...

    Thread on More Power??

And be careful with the handhelds. I bought a Superchips for my wife's 07 Tahoe, and later found out that there are 7 or 8 different 5.3l's used in 07. I think you look at the 8th digit/letter of the Vin, and go to superchips forum and a guy there can pretty much tell you what your gains will...

    Dear god stop the squeaking!

I just had to buy one lower arm. I think it was about $180. When it was dropped and the spindles were put on, the spindle had to be separated from the ball joints. Most of the time a blow to the spindle with a big hammer will release them, but sometimes a separator fork is used to get them...

    Dear god stop the squeaking!

I was super cautious not to tear any boots when I put the McGaughy's kit on, and damn if the tie rod boots, and the passenger side lower balljoint boot wasn't torn. It was a terrible noise heard at low speed when hitting bumps, and when turning the wheels when stopped. The tie rod ends weren't...

    GM Parts Direct???

Always good experiences here as well. I normally get parts numbers from the forums, or call up my local dealer and ask about a part and how much, then just ask for the part number so when I call back in to order it, I can just give them that. Then I plug it into gmpartsdirect, and save a ton...

    Mcgaughy's 2/3 Drop ???

The LTZ's all have the auto ride. The McGaughy's deluxe kit (spindles and springs) will work with the autoride. It requires you to bend the rear adjusting links, but it's pretty easy. I wish they would come with new links, but hopefully sooner or later they will. I know some others do now.

    Mcgaughy's 2/3 Drop ???

I've pulled a couple different boats with no problem since being lowered. An 18ft Jon Boat with a 75hp outboard, and a 20' fiberglass with a 305ci inboard/outboard. No problems pulling either. Worked like a charm, and pulled each at least 1.5 hours down to the beach.

    Mcgaughy's 2/3 Drop ???

I'm very happy with it on my wife's tahoe. One major area of concern....don't let the rear axle droop too much when putting on the springs and put tension on the rear ABS lines. I did this by mistake during install and now have to buy new ABS lines since the Traction Control and ABS kicks in...

    99 tranny flush or fill?

Dropping the pan and changing the filter, and that fluid is a good start. I wouldn't flush either with that many miles. Normally when the problem is there, it's a bit late, but good fluid will help it last longer. What I like to do is to drop the pan and change the filter, clean the pan, and...

    Completely removing tailgate bowtie question..

I don't have any pics of mine, but I had the factory one shaved. My wife hit a piece of metal in the road that scratched up the door, so I took off the whole piece and had them shave/paint it for me at the same time the door was fixed. It was a buddy of mine's shop, so he didn't charge me any...

    Front Bumper Licience plate filler

I was thinking the same thing. Something like the Corvettes have. But I haven't been able to find one.
