I think it depends if you have a locking differential or not. I believe mine said to use the additive, but since I used royal purple which already had the additive in it I didn't have to buy anything extra.

I have HID's in my S-10 & they are great even in the snow. like Mike97 said, it's how they are pointed, I have mine pointed slightly more toward the ground than stock so I don't blind...
I have the older hypertech that does not have the setting for 87 octane gas, k&n replacement filter & magnaflow exhaust. adding these didn't help much. I guess it's not that big a deal since I mainly use it for a tow vehicle.. I was thinking an electric fan would help.

I have a magnaflow cat back on my 99. sounds good, deep & melow, not very loud. but when I tow, the droning is annoying. if you don't tow, this would be a great setup.
