    Front Wheel Noise, Wheel Bearing?

1995 GMC Yukon, 4x4, Auto Trans, Auto Hub I'm getting a noise from the front right, like tire noise, while driving. It feels like a slight drag. I'm wondering if it's the wheel bearing. And if so, where the bearings are so I can pack them. I read through my Haynes manual for an hour last...

    tire size

Tallest? What is the tallest 265/?r16 tire that can be placed on a stock 95 Yukon 4x4? I saw 305/75r16 is the biggest tire. But I'm trying to minimize the width, while maximizing the height so gas mileage is optimized.

    IPod Adapter How-To

As a cassette adapter won't work in my stock Delco radio, so a while ago I created an own IPod adapter out of some old RCA cables I had lying around. I figured I'd share my findings with you guys. Truck: 95 GMC Yukon, stock cassette/radio head and stock remote CD Player. The Idea: The...

    1998 Tahoe Randomly Stalling

I used to have an 88 Jeep Cherokee. It would try to stall out at speed at random times but usually when driving over bumps. Turns out the TDC (Top Dead Center) sensor, a little sensor that tells the ECM where the cam is, went bad. Well, sort of went bad. The wiring harness was routed near the...

Any Suggestions On How I Fix This?

Sometimes there are mid-shaft bearings on trucks. Basically, for long driveshafts, it divides the driveshaft in half (or so) usually around the place where the rear axle ties into the frame. There are plastic/rubber parts to that bearing and if it goes out you would feel it at start and stop...

    Radiator

Ditto, $150. The tanks are plastic, but for $150 (I'll believe the lifetime when my radiator melts and I call them back) you can buy 5 of these for one OEM. Difference is the cheapos have fewer (larger) channels through the radiator. But for regular driving should be fine.

    temp question

Temp readings of 160-220/30 is too much flucuation. I'd try a higher temp set thermostat to start, it's easy enough to change out. Maybe 180/5. I put a new one in mine last year, 175 I think, and the temp goes up and down noticeably. Couldn't tell you the range without paying closer attention...

    99' Tahoe rear end alignment

Shims Usually the only way to align a straight rear axle is with shims. And most shops won't want to tackle it. Around here the alignment shops only offer 4 wheel alignment for all cars, which means they align the front wheels and charge me for four. Fun times.

    o2 sensor removal

Special Tool They do sell specific sockets for O2 sensor removal. Basicaly a deep well with one side cutout for the wire to stick out. Would that work?

    A/C questions..

Big tube is the low side, so that's correct. And I forgot the fill bottle shouldn't even fit on the high side. I like the idea about the Anti-freeze. Still, if you can't find the freon leak, it doesn't matter why the compressor doesn't run. Maybe the tubes are clogged somewhere. So you're...

    A/C questions..

You're right I didn't understand it that way. Sounds like a pretty big problem, you should probably take it in. My only other thoughts would be to ensure you're filling the low side versus the high side. And you could start replacing the pressure switches, at about $20 a pop times 2, that could...

    Advantages/Disadvantages between Tailgate or BarnDoors?

Advantage to Tailgate: * You can sit on a tailgate, not a barn door. * You can open the window and retrieve things easily. * Haul things poking out the back window with the added safety of the tailgate closed * When you load/unload the back you can set things on the tailgate...

    A/C questions..

Unless there is enough pressure in the line the compressor should not run. The only way to get the compressor to run with little to no pressure is by jumping the pressure switch(es) that are currently off due to low pressure. However, running the compressor in such a way for very long will...

    A/C questions..

The pressure switches should have a shrader valve (think tires) behind it. A little refridgerant might leak out when you take it off but should shut off. There are two pressure switches on my 95. The one on the compressor is the high side switch. Evaporator is the low side switch.

    AC problem

Front AC Sounds like a switch or vacumn line to me. Do you hear the vents moving or feel the air flow change out the front vents when you turn on the AC?

    Questions about Injectors

Cap/Rotor/Tune-up When was the last time you did a cap/rotor/spark plug/wires/tune-up? Could be that simple. Could be a cold start valve/vacumn advance/whatever they use issue. Or is it the new distributorless ignition? It only happens 1/4 of the time, is that only when the truck is cold...

    AC problem

Front/Back AC 45 psi, I can't remember the actual recommended, search around the forums, but 45 psi sounds pretty full for the low side. I only have a 2-door so not sure how the rear AC works. Is it a seperate compressor and all, or is air just diverted from the front evaporator to the rear...

    AC problem

Power to the Compressor? Check the pressure switches, one on the accumulator, one on the compressor itself. Should be able to check continuity across the switches with the truck off. If you get continuity then the switch is "on", meaning the system is pressurized, and the compressor should run...

    AC Won't Come On

Update Got the gauge. Hit the high side schrader valve with my finger, there's pressure. Hit the low side with the gauge, almost empty to empty. Hitting the schrader valve with my finger I could hear a little puff, though it might have come from the bottle+gauge going on it for the check...

    AC Won't Come On

Update There are two pressure switches one on the Accumulator/Filter Drier, the other on the Compressor. I initially only checked the Compressor switch. So the update is, there is continuity across the compressor pressure switch. There is not continuity across the Accumulator/Filter Drier...
