Default Opinions for lifting a 95'

I have recently purchaced a 95' tahoe, ls, 2dr. I want to lift it 4" - 6", have not decided yet. I have seen kits that include a new extended knuckle and kits that do not replace the knuckle. I was wandering if anyone has experiece with either type of kit? Do both kits lower the diff. housing? How does the different kits affect the cv shafts and vibrations? I know in the rear if I stick to block, ride will stay the same but axle wrap will increase. Replacement springs will minimize, but not stop, axel wrap and possibly stiffen the ride.

just looking for experience and opinions.

I agree

Are you looking to do a pure suspension lift or a body lift or combination of each? Are you looking for a basic bolt on type kit or are you looking to spend some cash and do a custom lift kit probably through a shop? Do you plan on regearing it? Is it a 4x4?

if you want to go bigger than 6 usually have to straight axle it...mine is adjustable 4 to 6 and you cant fit anything bigger than a 33 with out it rubbing (unless you want to body lift it which in my opinion is a joke) when you hit a hole in a turn.... GM made them for the ride not for the offroad....

3 months since last post but did you think about ladder bars for the axel wrap, thats what im doing, dont waste money on the springs if theres still a chance on wrap plus from what ive been told with springs the ride really stiffens up.

I prefer only suspension with no body but I'll be willing to do 2" of BL. This will not be for serious offroad (I have my 89 4runner for that) so I just wanna run 35s. Mall crawler status. Is the ifs stout enough to handle DD it with 35"s? Prob a bolt on kit.

Oh sorry..yes it's 4x4...I'm thinking it will need to be regeared since it will see street and hwy more often than trails.

I've also searched with little success but do the rear windows on a 1995 Chevrolet 4door Tahoe only go 1/3 of the way down!?
