OEM Navigation radio install

I started my install of the factory OEM Denso navigation radio. Waiting for the JP Customs connector kit ($35 + $8 ship) to arrive to finish the install. I am installing this unit in a 07 Yukon with no rear dvd. It is GM part number 15940103. I first tapped into the VSS wire in the power junction box.

You are kidding right? No it did not harm anything as you can lift the piece up as high as you want. I just used it to hold it up while I snapped the antenna in place and fed the lead wire thru the hole. There is no pressure on the block at all nor does the dash piece bend.

Now for the issues -- after the install was completed and the Yukon started the blue nav screen displayed the "Theft Lock" in the middle of the screen (which I understand is normal until my dealer flashes the computer), but some strange things occurred 1) the ding ding ding when the key is left in the ignition stopped working 2) the horn no longer chirps when clicking the remote twice to lock the doors. That is all I have noticed so far and also every other start of the car a GMC logo and a row of buttons is briefly displayed on the nav screen before it changes to the Theft Lock screen. I am hoping that when the radio is flashed all will return to normal? Anyone have these issues?
Thanks

All normal - you won't have any turn signal sound either. Ps. you should have twisted the JP wires and probably added a drain. If you hear the whine (as described on the other Chevy forum) that is the cause. Good job on the install pics...

Thanks, I had intended to twist the wires and forgot in my haste to get it done. If it becomes an issue I will either add the drain wire, twist the others or simply just disconnect it.
