I have an 04 Tahoe it has the folding rear seats that seem never to fold down easily. just wondering if any other tahoe owners have encountered this same problem. And how they fixed it?

Which row are you talking about, the second or third? Buckets or bench?

Both of my OBS Tahoes have had second row buckets and they were like they were spring loaded. Really easy and quick fold down.

it's the 2nd row seats. they are the bench style seats. you have to lift the bottom before the top will fold down.

Check the cables that release the back part of the seats, thats the reason you gotta flip one down before the other will come down. There's a couple of cables that release the second part, but the first has to be down

Yeah, I had problems with my DS seat folding until I realized about the cables. Apparently, one of the cables broke, so I have to manually move the lever to fold the seat. Not a big deal, since I rarely fold that seat.

plus you have to make sure the bottom seat is folded far enough down, I have my seat back pretty far so I have to let my seat up a lil in order for the cable to fully pull the release to let the top fold down.

That's another reason why I don't fold the DS seat down too much. The Driver's seat is all the way back & tilted a bit (hey, I'm 6'4" & need the room!), so I have to scoot the seat up a bit for the back one to fold all the way down.

yeah its the seat thats probably in the way, what you can do is release the cable and turn it a couple time, just twist it to make it a little shorter so that way it will release the back easier.

I usually put my driver's seat all the way up before trying to fold down the back seat. I'm gonna try twisting the cables a bit. It just really sucks when i'm trying to load stuff in my truck and I gotta fight with the backseat to get it down.
