SMM PERFORMANCE (Scott McKinney) UPDATED 6/30

This individual has taken advantage of many.

I contacted Scott McKinney last week on purchasing K2 LED Tail lights.
Initially there was a great stream of communication between the two.
I sent the request for a USPS money order with express delivery due to the fact that I wanted to get these tail lights installed as quickly as possible.

As soon as I stated that the money was sent out the communication ceased to a response every other day versus immediate responses prior to payment.
He advised someone will be looking out for payment and product would be shipped immediately. Days passed and said he finally received payment.
Upon receiving payment and proceeding my request the item be shipped as quickly as possible, Mr McKinney began ignoring my emails and Instant Messages.
I began to call his "store phone" which in reality is his personal cell phone.
Half the time i receive his automated voice mail box and the other is met with sexual moans.
A week has passed and today he says he shipped the product and then canceled my shipment due to him not wanting to do business with people such as myself.
Mr McKinney stated that he will refund my money order and advised I take my business elsewhere.
This afternoon I googled 'smmperformance' and learned many have been burned by this individual.
Many have been promised of refunds and have yet to receive any compensation or product.
Please be advised of this internet criminal

UPDATE: JUNE 30 2008

Scott agreed to give me a full refund if i agreed to remove my comments.
I agreed and it has been two weeks and have not seen any refund or has he even attempted to return any of my emails.

Wtf? Lol. Sorry to hear about that man. Unfortunately there are too many of these guys around on the internet. That's why it's always good to Google anything before you purchase something on the net. Hopefully you get your money back.

The initial few phone calls I get the standard automated number and leave a message.
Proceeding those few calls I would get some sex operating line.
As soon as I began being redirected to those I knew I was about to face some difficulty.

File a complaint with the Attorney Generals office in his state. They are slow, but they will take action.

Have them contact me if they need any more info as I will be happy to help. He was kicked from this forum for dishonesty and being shady.

Wow that other dude here who said stuff about him was absolutely right. And he still goes through this forum sometimes as Scott McKinney, I think. I saw the thread where he pointed to his Car Domain site showing off his things. No wonder he's able to take a brand new truck and put in a new performance drive train, all new suspension, custom everything. He's a hustler. And I know he's hustling at other forums too. We should all find those forums where he is and shut him down. I hate *******s like this!

yea, the other dude was me. His excuse to me was he was in the hospital with a collapsed lung. In my case, he owes me about $900 for powdercoating work I did for him. Unfortunately, I extended him the courtesy of credit like I do most shops that I do work for, or should I say, like I used to do. Next thing I know, he says he is going to sue me for defamation of character, as if!

when purchasing products some vendors require different methods of payment
therefore having trust on buying products on trusted website/forums i assumed that smmperformance would follow through with their obligations.
i've seen other members praise smmperformance and seemed to have a legit website

He wouldn't have a prayer of suing you successfully for that. Rather, you should sue him for non-payment. If you have your completed work order papers, and he has nothing showing payment, then you win. Period. I'd get him if it was me.

I'm sorry for anybody that has problems with this person, but for what it's worth I had a smooth transaction with Scott on a Magnaflow exhaust over a year ago. Maybe things have changed since then, but I thought I would share my experience.

It's funny because I looked at two "rebuttals" he had on "rip-off report" to two totally different posts and he posted the exact same paragraphs for each case. Sort of like a "default" rebuttal for whenever he gets reported.
