I've got a 2000 'Ho with the 5.3. I can easily find the pcv valve on my Dodge (yeah, I know, the D word), and it's underneath the intake manifold on my Bonneville so I don't mess with it, but when I look at the 'Ho there's so much in the way I can't tell where it is.
Standing in the front of the truck, it will be on the right side valve cover close to the firewall.there's a good size hose attached to it if I remember right.

That sounds like what I was looking at. I'll see if I can pull it and see if that's it.
I pulled on that hose and got it out, it looks like a pcv hose alright but I can't get it off the large hose. Do I just need to put more muscle into it or am I missing something?

No I believe it just pulls out.If it does not you might have the wrong hose.
I'm lookin at the hose I've highlighted with red. I can pull it out of the valve cover but I can't get what really looks like the pcv valve out of the end of the hose. Someone else suggested I soak it in hot water to see if it would pull out.

I look at the same hose today and its seems like one whole piece. Did you figure this out?
