Anyone have pics of running tow hooks and fog lights? I'm wanting fog/driving lights, but I can't stand them "thrown" onto the bumper/valance. I'm thinking I might remove the hooks mount some fogs in the holes for the summer... And considering it gets babied, it's probably not gonna affect my winters either. Just curious to see if anyone had any other solutions.

If you can manage to find the PIAA air dam kit, you can cleanly mount fog lamps in to the custom air dam and still maintain the functionality of the tow hooks, all while still maintaining a clean, factory installed appearance. It is nearly impossible to find this kit though, because it has not been manufactured for years now, but if you do some searching you may find one somewhere.

Another solution is to exchange for the 1999, 2000 Tahoe Z71 / Tahoe Limited front bumper which has fogs mounted in the bumper instead of the air dam.

The photo below is my vehicle with both applications installed to give you an idea of what they would look like.

Hopefully this helps! Take care.

i think the best thing would be to find a bumper off of a Z71 Tahoe. they are built into the bumper from factory. depending on the color of you Tahoe you would have to paint the bumper before putting it on your truck.

Bumper isn't changing... I have a chrome smoothie, and don't want to swap it... It's too clean! I'm leaning towards finding some aftermarket lights that will fill the OEM holes for the hooks nicely. That or doing a summer swap to a 2wd sport valance, like the 454SS.

The PIAA kit is fuggin' slick though!

I like the lights in the bumper, but I already have my bumper. I'm going to measure the t/h pockets tonight, and do some diggin' tomorrow to see what I can come up with for lights that'll fit the bill (or fill the hole). I've seen the valance on a truck before, and I'm undecided on it... Personally, I like the plain ol' black ABS down there. The grill... Dunno. I'd actually have to see that one in person, but I think I'd rather phantom mount the lights behind a billet grille.

I decided to sign up to the forum to give some input (even though I do not have a tahoe).

The bumpers on Z71 tahoe's are actually just a 6.5l Diesel bumper. You can get them paintable, with impact strips and bumperguards, or smooth without.

I bought a chrome 6.5l diesel bumper and installed a second set of 88-89 sealed beam headlight adjusters behind the bumper, with GE 100,000 candlepower spot lamps in the openings. The size of the 88-89 sealed beams are almost the exact same shape as the opening.

The factory sport airdam and factory foglights are also a good option. The factory foglights do a pretty good job of lighting. I upgraded my lenses with KC LX2 foglamps, which fit in the factory housing. The sport airdam also has the markings for factory tow hook openings (located on the backside) where you could cut them out. I am running aftermarket hooks in mine.

I have been really happy with my setup, I run the fogs with the lows, and all eight lights are on for high-beams. If you have any questions shoot me an email....
