If I remember correctly, the plug end that plugs under the dash - you have to insert the wire differently between some model years. Maybe you should double check to see if it is wired correctly there.

Try loosening you bumper mount bolts, there should be a little bit of wiggle room to get the bolts started.

I found my rear doors didnt lock unless I double tapped the lock button.

Insurance will tell you sometimes you have to take it where they say. You have the right to take anywhere you want. Go get one or two more quotes, and get it done where you feel comfortable.
