Check your u-joints. Or for grease around diff seals. When I bought my Tahoe found out the hard way the pinion seal blew. My diff had a cup of gunk rather than oil and pulled a new rear end from a junk yard on sale for $100 But a local tranny shop said I needed a rebuild. Check the little things...
