I replaced the OEM Nivomat shocks on my '03 Tahoe with Bilstein shocks and Bilstein replacement springs. With that combo it does away with the Nivomat stuff and retains the stock ride height. IIRC the total price for Bilstein shocks for all four corners plus the replacement Bilstein springs...
I had a similar squeak on my '03, ended up being a bad hub.
I am now having another squeak when turning left. Sounds like it is coming from the rear though.
There was an instrument cluster recall but it was due to some of the guages not working and not because of the steering wheel controls not working.

Do you have RPO codes Zw7 and G65? If so then you have the premium smooth ride suspension package with the Nivomat self-leveling shock absorbers. You can find them for under $300 each on the net (rockauto.com comes to mind). It's just the rear shocks, I believe the front shocks are just...
When I bought my '03 Tahoe 2 years ago the DRLs were out so I replaced them right away with whatever they called for at the time (3157, 4157?). Those burned out almost immediately so I just removed the bulbs and did without DRLs until recently when I decided to give the 4114LL bulbs a try. To...
According to the service manual I have the rotor to shoe clearance is only 0.026". If I were doing it without a set of calipers I would adjust the shoe to the point that the rotor just barely slips over it. Seems like it would be close enough for gov't work.
The same manual says to then...
Just FYI... $433 for a complete Magnaflow y-pipe with catalytic converters ready for a simple bolt-on installation.

Be advised that removing or altering your catalytic converter(s) is illegal (federal law) and depending on where you live you could be fined or worse if caught. The common thing to do though is just to hollow them out but keep them in place so it will pass a visual inspection.
I haven't...
Depends on what suspensions you have. If you have the premium ride suspension with the Nivomat shocks then yeah, replacements will be expensive. If you look around you can find the Nivomat shocks for under $300 each though.
From what I've read you can use regular (cheap) shocks but you...
Looks to be a foreign (Mexico) market Suburban.

Edit: or maybe not. LOL
Assuming your '05 is the same as an '03...
You'll have to remove the headlight assembly first. There are 2 pins at the top of the hadlight assembly. Rotate them and pull them out. Once they are out the headlight assembly can be pulled out. The bulbs and wiring are still attached so be...
www.helminc.com <- original service manual publisher, not cheap though
I have a current subscription to www.alldatadiy.com for my Tahoe. It was $20 for a year. Not a bad resource but not as good as an actual Helm service manual.
