Anything ? Worried since I'm taking a bit of a trip today

so I bought a 2004 Tahoe 5.3l with 157,000 on it. The coolant container had a dark dried substance on the inside of the entire container, but the coolant when I checked it had good color.... The oil color is fine. I'm nervous about the consistent THIN white smoke that comes out the exhaust...
