I'm guessing by now you have figured it out. But if you have not, it is intake manifold gasket, the lower one. I had the EXACT same issue with my 99 vortec, had to replace the cat converter because it was clogged. My guess is you have gone through antifreeze and can't find a leak on the ground...

Diehard SUV battery here. When gas was at 4 bucks I didn't use my tahoe hardly at all. Each time I did it started right up, no prolems.

Ok guys I have a similar issue that I asked in another thread and only received one response so I am trying it here. Mine shakes really really bad. But 95% of the time it is only when I am towing something heavy....up hill. It starts lightly and continues to get worse in less than 15 seconds...

I hate to be silly but, it sort of sounds like you might have an ignition wire crossed. I say this because I did it by accident once when I replaced my plugs and the symptoms sound the same.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have changed plugs and wires with high grade stuff and the cap and rotor at least 3 times. That's why I am not sure if there is a distributor problem or some sensor. It actually feels like it might have something to do with spark advance, it only becomes a problem...
