Well, I love my new code reader, but it has given me a P0420 code (catalyst below efficiency bank one). The code is a pending code too. After some brief research, I'm guessing that it is my cat converter. Anyone else aware of this code? From what i've read, the downstream o2 sensor could be malfunctioning, but most likely not. I'd hate to have to do the cat, but if that is what has been delt to me, then so be it. OH, and what is bank 1 mean?
Did you ever find the answer to this issue???? I have an 03 Denali with a 6.0 ltr motor that just yesterday gave this code. I am hoping that it is just bad gas, but thought I would check anyhow. Please let me know as soon as possible.
