Can I retain the factory XM receiver when installing a DNX-8120? If so, what connections/cables/equip do I need? I assume that the factory receiver cable does not go through the BCM connections and is stand-alone behind the dash. Is this the case?

yes you can. but if your original stuff is non-Bose, you need to deal with no more blinker sounds, very low chimes and very low OnStar voice. I just did the swap in my 08 (dealer sold/installed as part of purchase) and even they didnt know about the Bose being needed. Also,without Bose, the...
