glad there are some other folks who experience this. i personally don't mind it, i've just always been curious as to the intended purpose for gm doing it. weird that is seems not everyone has it though
no, it has to be depressed while you turn the key. im used to it, but it's a pain when a valet or anyone else can't figure out how to start it :rolleyes2:
my truck does this too. when i bought it, the dealer explained that it was a "safety feature". what i've noticed, and have been meaning to research, is a series of beeps the truck makes. it beeps when i unlock and lock it, and then beeps about 30 seconds after i unlock it. after it beeps...
I'm in GA, and I got tint a few months ago. No problems so far. The shop used 15% Lumar and it matches the factory tint in the back PERFECTLY. So if you want to go ahead and do it, I'd think any good shop would know what to use to match. But it's gonna be 15%/20%
The 4L60E in my old '03 blew at 40k miles... so yeah... they suck. I sprung for the extended warranty to 100k miles when I bought my '08 simply because I expect it's tranny to go at some point.
no problem man, glad i could help. and blackpearl, i had a flowmaster 50 series SUV catback on my old '03 Tahoe, it was single in/dual out, and i liked it. i didn't notice a power or mileage difference, but the sound was nice, just a tad louder than stock.
These 5.3 V8s don't have crazy displacement, so the backpressure you would lose with true duals would hurt your low end power noticeably. Put simply, true duals= more pipe= more flow (which takes away backpressure). We need at least some backpressure on our trucks to maintain low-end torque...
