For a sleeper I would go 6.0 with long tubes. Long tubes and 2 1/2 exhaust with a good tune might get you to 250 horse to the ground on the 5.7

Jack up front tires, put it in 4 high with jack stands holding tahoe up. Crawl under and try spinning front drive shaft if one tire turns front is locked in and Tcase is not If drive shaft does not turn try spinning front tires. This would mean tcase is locked in and front diff is not.
